KLC GATE/Team USA Program
USCF Officially Representatives for World Cadets Championship and World Youth Championship
The KLC Team USA/GATE program started training in the summer of 2020. It's a 2-3 years study plan. This program is divided into three gradients. In the first stage, the goal is to meet the peak post-tournament (PPT) rating and activity criteria in the age and gender categories and qualify for USCF Officially Representatives for World Cadet/Youth Championship. Then the qualified students will study in the second gradient, intensive and higher level training. Then they will join KLC National Master Sprint team.
In last 2-3 years program study, 1 student won the world 3rd place in World Cadets Championship, 3 students became National Master, 2 students became FIDE Woman Candidate Master, 2 students became FIDE Candidate Master, 10 students were qualified for World Youth/Cadets Team USA, 3 of them were the Official Representatives. Many students are ranked No.1 and No.2 in several age groups in the US Top player lists.

To register KLC GATE program classes, students must fill the registration first (for KLC current and previous enrolled students only). Registration deadline 8/1/2023. We will evaluate the students on the registration list.
The USCF OTB rating May - July is one of the criteria for practical tournament skills and performance evaluation. There are also other general evaluations like class performance, kid’s chess enthusiasm and goal, parents fully support, and how much time is available on Chess training and practice/tournaments, etc. The program will start in August. Coach Kiki will send invitation in early August if a student is qualified. Then we will communicate with student and parents.
