This summer, we invite young minds to explore the world of chess through fun, challenge, and discovery. Whether your child is brand new to the game or striving for national titles, KLC offers the perfect environment to think creatively, make smart moves, and improve with confidence.

​This summer, we are upgrading our Week 3 All-Girls Camp and Week 4 Level 3 Camp in Pleasanton and Week 5 All-girls Camp in Fremont into a special WGM (Woman Grandmaster) Camp, led by a world-class Woman Grandmaster. This is a unique opportunity for our students to learn from a top international player and experience high-level training.

A dynamic, all-level chess camp packed with fun activities, exciting challenges, and a celebration of chess for everyone! (Quick/Blitz/Bullet/Bughouse)

The most exciting camp of the summer! ​Combining fast-paced play, team games, puzzle contests, and mini tournaments, the Fiesta Camp focuses on fun while sharpening real-time decision-making skills.
Ideal for kids who love to play, move, and think on the board!

Lunch & Snack

Nut-Free Policy: Due to allergy concerns, we kindly ask that all participants refrain from bringing any nut-containing food items to the camp. Our facility is nut-free, and we prioritize the safety and well-being of all attendees. Throughout the day, we will provide snacks and water. These snacks will be nut-free and compliant with our facility's policies.

Just a friendly reminder: our full-day camp doesn't include lunch, so we kindly ask that participants bring their own meals from home. To help keep everyone safe and comfortable, please make sure lunches are nut-free, as we want to be mindful of campers with allergies.

Camp Features

KLC Intensive Training Camp offers a one-of-a-kind tournament-based program designed to cater to students in grades K-12. The camps are structured to provide a blend of learning, play, and enjoyment, fostering an environment where participants can enhance their chess intuition and refine their individual skills.
Through a combination of high-quality instruction, thoughtful evaluation, and supervised gameplay and analysis sessions, students have the opportunity to delve into various aspects of the game. This includes exploration of chess openings, middle game strategies, and endgame techniques.
The curriculum is tailored to cover topics relevant to all phases of the game: Opening, Middle game, and Endgame. Participants engage in a multifaceted approach to learning, which includes studying, playing, critical thinking exercises, teamwork activities, game analysis, and sharing experiences with fellow participants.
KLC Intensive Training Camp aims to provide a holistic chess learning experience that not only strengthens technical skills but also nurtures strategic thinking, decision-making abilities, and sportsmanship among students.


Cancellation Policy

Camp registration saves your space. So, cancellations are discouraged. Free Cancellation made up to 10 days prior to camp start date. Cancellations request received with less than 10 days prior to the camp, will receive 80% refund. Cancellation request done on or after the first camp date is not entitled to any refund. "Sick Child "Cancellation is subject to pro-rated refund minus $50 administrative fee; official doctor's note may be requested. Camp schedule change requests made prior to the camp start date will be accommodated, if availability permits. Those who wish to reduce from full day to half-day or reduce the number of weeks will need to refer to the cancellation policy listed above. In case KLC needs to cancel the camps, we'll process a 100% refund to you immediately. We reserve the right to cancel camps 3 days prior to the starting date, in case of 6 or less registered campers.

A new year brings new challenges! 
The State Championship is one of the most important events at KLC each year.
To help our students perform at their best in the 2026 State Championship, KLC has fully adjusted our curriculum starting in January, with all classes from January through April focused on systematic tournament preparation. These competition-oriented lesson plans have been newly redesigned by Coach Kiki, emphasizing real-game performance, consistency, and mental strength.
To further strengthen tournament readiness, we will host two Spring Break Tournament Preparation Intensive Camps.
Spring Break Tournament Preparation Camp (5 Days) Fees:
  • Half Day Camp: $450 (Morning camp 9:00-12:00, Afternoon camp 12:30-3:30)
  • Full Day Camp: $750  (9:00-3:30)
  • Extended Care: $30 / day (until 5:00 pm)

  • Coach Kiki will lead the KLC team and coordinate group registration

    • Enter “KLC” as the club/team name
    • Students must wear their KLC Team Shirt

  • Students attending the tournament may schedule a make-up class (No refunds or credits)
