We are honored to announce that the four-time world champion and the highest-ranked women chess player in the world, GM Hou Yifan will be visiting KLC summer camps, 7/15 – 7/18/24 in Fremont and 7/22 – 7/25/24 in Pleasanton. We welcome all levels young chess enthusiasts to join us and spend the summer with world champion GM Hou Yifan. Seats are limited, so register early to secure your spot.

KLC CAMPS OVERVIEW
KLC Intensive Training Camp offers a one-of-a-kind tournament-based program designed to cater to students in grades K-12. The camps are structured to provide a blend of learning, play, and enjoyment, fostering an environment where participants can enhance their chess intuition and refine their individual skills.
Through a combination of high-quality instruction, thoughtful evaluation, and supervised gameplay and analysis sessions, students have the opportunity to delve into various aspects of the game. This includes exploration of chess openings, middle game strategies, and endgame techniques.
The curriculum is tailored to cover topics relevant to all phases of the game: Opening, Middle game, and Endgame. Participants engage in a multifaceted approach to learning, which includes studying, playing, critical thinking exercises, teamwork activities, game analysis, and sharing experiences with fellow participants.
KLC Intensive Training Camp aims to provide a holistic chess learning experience that not only strengthens technical skills but also nurtures strategic thinking, decision-making abilities, and sportsmanship among students.

PREPARATION
- Face masks are optional.
- Please note: Our full day camp does not include lunch, so please remember to pack your child's lunch, ensuring it is nut-free. We'll provide nut-free snacks and water.
- We will provide chess sets and teaching materials.
- Hand sanitizer will be provided, and all chess equipment will be sanitized. Our rooms are equipped with air purifiers that can clean and fresh the air.
- For the safety of our children, we request that parents drop off and pick up their child at the door. Students are not permitted to walk across the parking lot unaccompanied.
- We maintain a nut-free facility. If you bring your own lunch or snacks, please ensure they are nut-free.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Camp registration saves your space. So, cancellations are discouraged. Free Cancellation made up to 10 days prior to camp start date. Cancellations request received with less than 10 days prior to the camp, will receive 80% refund. Cancellation request done on or after the first camp date is not entitled to any refund. "Sick Child "Cancellation is subject to pro-rated refund minus $50 administrative fee; official doctor's note may be requested. Camp schedule change requests made prior to the camp start date will be accommodated, if availability permits. Those who wish to reduce from full day to half-day or reduce the number of weeks will need to refer to the cancellation policy listed above. In case KLC needs to cancel the camps, we'll process a 100% refund to you immediately. We reserve the right to cancel camps 3 days prior to the starting date, in case of 6 or less registered campers.
